Since its introduction over 30 years ago the Sondek LP12 has been the turntable by which all others are judged and each component has been continuously improved to extract even more information from a vinyl record. Its modular design means that it can be partnered with a range of cartridges and tonearms to achieve increasing levels of performance.

For the Platinum turntable solution, the Sondek LP12 is partnered with:

The Akiva is Linn’s latest moving-coil cartridge, precision-engineered to protect cherished vinyl recordings whilst maximising your enjoyment of the music.

Akiva incorporates an advanced magnetic assembly structure to produce a higher output with noticeably better tracking and even lower distortion than any previous Linn cartridge. It is constructed around a machined-from-solid alloy body for complete rigidity and uses the finest nude diamond stylus to extract more information from vinyl recordings. It also features a triple-point mounting system for the best possible connection to a Linn Ekos SE tonearm.

Setting a new performance benchmark, Ekos SE features advanced materials carefully selected for their sound performance and low resonance properties to minimise interference, resonance and microphony, and extract even more from your vinyl collection.

These include a machined titanium arm tube to reduce resonance within the arm and a stainless steel bearing housing which helps reduce unwanted tonearm movements. 

Keel is machined from a single solid piece of aluminium to provide extremely rigid support to the tonearm and platter. Eliminating screws, fixings and joins between each component removes virtually all vibration, resulting in more accurate music reproduction

The role of the Linto phono pre-amplifier is to carefully protect and amplify delicate signals retrieved from vinyl recordings. Innovative circuit design and precision surface mount technology supports the cleanest possible transfer of the signals generated by the Akiva moving-coil cartridge.

The Sondek LP12 is available in a choice of high-quality real wood veneer finishes. Our standard finishes are Black Ash, American Cherry, Maple, Rosenut or Walnut and we also offer a custom service for those who want a truly bespoke finish.
