Due to continued success we are looking for a Buyer / Planner to join our Purchasing team.

Purpose of Role:

Ensure components, parts and materials are available at the right time and in the correct quantities to allow customer orders to be fulfilled in an efficient and timely manner whilst managing inventory levels and costs.

Responsibilities:

As part of our busy Purchasing team, you will be tasked primarily with buying and planning the timely supply of the various components, materials, subcontracted machined or processed parts or similar that we use to build our market leading hi-fi equipment at our factory in Waterfoot.

You will be working day to day with our existing supply base and finding and onboarding new suppliers as required. Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with that supply base to ensure that information flow is good and required standards are maintained is a key part of the role.

You will be a key user of our MRP system for many reasons including to raise orders, review forecasting, understand potential shortages and to ensure it reflects the latest situation at all times to allow successful planning and execution of the production requirements.

You will liaise with the various departments within our organisation to share relevant sourcing information on a regular basis and to represent the Purchasing team at project meetings as part of the new product introduction process and be involved in other cross team meetings as required.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Buying experience, ideally from a busy factory environment with high numbers of individual part numbers.
  • Account management experience, maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers to deal with any issues around quality, adherence to schedules, cost issues, shipping, etc.
  • Fully computer literate, with experience of working with MRP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and a calm, problem solving outlook will be required to continually cope with the demands of the role as well as strategic thinking and forward planning.
