Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader

The Manufacturing Engineering (M.E.) team play a key role in the effective and efficient running of the manufacturing processes within Linn, and with the planning and development of new products and processes. Due to internal progression, we now have a vacancy for a ME Team Leader.

The Team Leader’s role is to support and enable the team, determine priorities, drive projects to completion and support other departments as required to achieve the company’s goals.

Key aspects of the role:

Develop and Support the Methods of Manufacture and Assembly

The M.E. team are responsible for the company’s methods of manufacture; therefore, the Team Leader must ensure that these methods are fit for purpose and continuously evolving and improving.

Focus on Quality, Method Improvement and Lean Manufacturing

Work closely with the Quality, Production and Engineering departments to drive quality into the processes and procedures used within the company. Champion continuous improvement activities and lean manufacturing principles in a constant improvement cycle.

New Product and New Technology Introduction

Play a key role in the NPI process, working with the Design teams to develop products that are designed with ease of manufacturing and assembly in mind. Work with the Purchasing team to assess the capability of potential suppliers. Support prototype builds. Seek out new machines, tools, processes and techniques that will improve the company’s manufacturing capabilities.

Team Development and Leadership

Ensure that the M.E. team have the skills required to meet the challenges that face the company, that resourcing levels are correct and that the team are working in accordance with the Linn Behaviours. Support the team as required to achieve their goals.

The Person:

This is a key role as M.E. have an impact company wide, therefore we are looking for somebody who demonstrates the Linn Leadership Behaviours, in particular - exceptional organisational skills, flexibility, drive, determination, and self-motivation as well as good analytical skills. You need to be able to think company wide, prioritise accordingly, work well under pressure, and have a ‘continuous improvement’ mindset.
