Metalwork Operator
Due to internal progession, we are looking for an additional Metalwork Operator to join our Metalwork Manufacturing team.
Working in our busy Metalwork department, the role involves producing parts which are used during assembly of our market leading hi-fi equipment, using equipment including auto punch, press brake, printers, etchers and our powder coat plan. Our metalwork operators are flexible, covering different machines and processes as required based on order mix.
Responsibilities:
- Operating a range of sheet metal processing equipment correctly and safely to produce high quality parts.
- Working from drawings and work instructions to consistently produce right first time, conforming parts.
- Using appropriate inspection techniques, equipment and quality standards to check manufactured parts to drawing criteria.
- Working in a continuous improvement team, contribute to our problem solving and mistake proofing culture by identifying and solving problems to improve quality and processes.
- Stock control within the metalwork manufacturing process.
Skills Required:
- Excellent attention to detail, and competence to follow drawings and work instructions.
- Willingness to work flexibility to operate different equipment, with a desire to learn new skills and seek opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously as required.
Experience Required:
Full training will be given but the following would be advantageous:
- Knowledge of operating sheet metal processing equipment, such as auto punch and press brake, powder coating, printing and etching.
- Capability in working to drawings and an understanding of inspection techniques and quality requirements.
- Experience in using handheld inspection equipment such as callipers and micrometers.·
- Computer confident, ideally with experience using MRP systems.
