Electronics Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join our busy design team in Eaglesham near Glasgow.

Working as a part of a multidisciplinary R&D team you will be responsible for the design and development of world class audio products.

You should have a passion for audio, a flair for innovative design, and the desire to push the boundaries of audio performance.

You should be confident in both analog and digital design, specifically:

  • Op-amp circuits and filters
  • A-D and D-A conversion
  • Embedded processors
  • FPGAs & VHDL


Ideally you will have a good working knowledge of some or all of the following:

  • DSP techniques and algorithms
  • Switched-mode power supply design
  • Design for EMC and safety compliance
  • PCB layout


You should have solid skills in:

  • Problem solving
  • Researching and applying new technologies
  • Cross-discipline teamwork
  • Written and verbal communication


Experience of the following tools would also be advantageous:

Mobile Developer

Linn is a precision engineering company specialising in the design and manufacture of high end music systems. We are building our next generation of music systems and are seeking world-class software developers to help us create a brand new, market leading, UI to control them.

You will be joining a small but highly effective team, our core language is C#. We advocate agile practices; we practice continuous integration and we love adopting new tools and techniques to improve the quality of our software. We currently use Pivotal Tracker, GitHub, Xamarin, NUnit, MVVMCross, AppVeyor and Bitrise, however we expect our tools to change over time and we want you to tell us if we can do it better.

We are looking for someone who reads blogs and experiments with new technology. You don’t have to have used all the tools we use but we expect you to understand how things work. Most importantly, we expect you to demonstrate a passion for writing great software.

Software Engineer

Linn design, engineer, and manufacture the world's finest music systems in Glasgow, Scotland.

We’re looking for a smart, motivated developer to join the team responsible for our streaming platform. This is a full-time position in our office on the outskirts of Glasgow.

We develop and maintain all code used on our DS (Digital Streamer) range. This ranges from device drivers and codecs to network protocols (HTTP, UPnP, many others), to on-board UI. The vast majority of work is in C++. This role will initially be focused on the network protocols layer but there is scope to evolve the role to suit the right candidate. Almost all code is cross-platform so most development will be on a desktop platform of your choice.

We’re a small team so every engineer gets to make a big difference and sees their code in shipping products, used by a highly engaged user-base.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong C++ programmer
  • Experience both using and implementing networking protocols


Any of the following would be a bonus:

  • User-level experience with streaming audio
  • Interest in music
  • Experience in or understanding of real-time systems
  • Experience in agile methodologies

Digital Designer

The job

We are excited to be adding to our team and are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile Digital Designer to join the marketing team. The successful candidate will understand that great design goes far deeper than just amazing visuals and strives to take complex problems and interactions, and form these into clear and understandable design solutions that inspire our customers.

What’s involved?

  • Requirement analysis: Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product owners and marketing
  • Prototyping: Illustrate design ideas using storyboard sketches, wireframes and prototypes. Prepare and present concepts to internal teams and key stakeholders. Identifying and troubleshooting UX problems
  • Interaction Design: Develop rich, interactive UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites functions with a view to carry out usability tests.
  • Interface Design: product interface design, creative work, and production work. Overview of the overall style to design. Building and implementing style guides and design systems, taking the decisions on these to allow other design partners to adhere to fonts, colours and images etc.
  • Optimisation: Based on usability test and feedback carry out design adjustments and review mock ups for an iterative implementation plan.
  • Design Delivery: Provide development ready design assets and detailed guidelines to clearly communicate design requirements during the hand off to the development team
  • Responsive Design: Understand and demonstrate how your designs will translate and adapt across all devices
  • Brand Consistency: Be a brand champion across our digital footprint

Assistant Chef

Linn Products currently require a full time, experienced Assistant Chef for their premises in Eaglesham working 37.5 hours per week, Mon – Fri between the hours of 07.30 and 15.30 hrs.

You will be working under the Head Chef as part of the catering team to deliver a full catering service.

Linn Products Ltd has a vacancy for an experienced CNC Operator to work in their Metalwork manufacturing area comprising Fabrication, Powder Coating, Printing and CNC machining.

Requirements:

Experience operating any of the following equipment

  • CNC Milling and/or Lathes
  • Press Brake
  • CNC Punch


Main Duties:

  • Set-up and operate CNC equipment where necessary
  • Inspect and check parts using Engineering drawings and any relevant inspection/measuring equipment.
  • Applicants must be flexible and willing to work in any of the Metalwork areas when required.
  • They must also work well within a team, but should also be able to use their initiative to solve problems and improve methods/processes.
