There is currently a vacancy within our Events and Training Team for a Product and Sales Trainer. Our trainers are tasked with driving advocacy across our retailer network, developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours of our showroom staff to ensure end customers have the best possible experience when researching and purchasing Linn products.


The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Working with the Events and Training Team Leader and Business Development team to identify the training needs of each retailer
  • Scheduling and delivering training at retailer premises across the UK, Europe, North America and Asia and in the Linn factory
  • Developing and maintaining content on the company’s eLearning platform, Linn Akademy


Requirements:

  • Understands technical detail and able to deliver in an easy to understand manner

Senior Acoustic Engineer

We are currently looking for a Senior Acoustic Engineer to join our outstanding Acoustic team.

We’re looking for a full-time experienced Senior Acoustic Engineer to join us in our Glasgow facility. Working in the Acoustic design team with close interaction with both manufacturing and all other groups in our research and development facility, your primary responsibility will be loudspeaker drive unit design and manufacture. Other responsibilities may include the development of high performance integrated loudspeakers from concept, through prototyping and into manufacture, room acoustics design and simulation.


The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:

Essential skills:

  • Degree level in acoustic or audio engineering, or Physics or other engineering degree with specialism in acoustics/audio.
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in loudspeaker design and manufacture including both manual and semi-automated drive unit assembly.
  • Experience in electroacoustic modelling and simulation.
  • Experience with CAD packages.
  • Excellent teamwork in a dynamic project environment.
  • Experience with acoustic system specification, design and measurement.
  • Experience of loudspeaker system design and construction.


Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including adhesives
  • Experience with acoustic measurement systems.
  • Familiarity with digital signal processing.
  • Familiarity with electronic design.
  • Experience with Matlab programming.


Desired Characteristics:

  • Self-motivated, passionate about audio and music and have a genuine interest in loudspeaker design. The job holder will have a thorough knowledge of transducer design principles and practices gained from both a good academic foundation and via practical application and experience.
  • A creative and innovative thinker with a proven track record in transforming concepts into realistic products which meet or exceed specified requirements.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines through planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Senior Software Engineer

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our outstanding software team.

We’re looking for an innovative, motivated Senior Software Engineer to join the team responsible for our streaming platform. This is a full-time position in our office on the outskirts of Glasgow.

We develop and maintain all code used on our DS (Digital Streamer) range. This ranges from device drivers and codecs to network protocols and on-board UI.

We’re a small, fast-paced team so every engineer gets to make a big difference and sees their code in shipping products, used by a highly engaged user-base.


As Senior Software Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, build and test software for our Digital Streamer range

Full-Stack Developer

We’re currently looking for a Full-Stack Developer to join our ambitious development team, writing software to support our customers, our products and our factory.

You should have at least a year’s experience building appealing and robust web applications. Any experience with C#, JavaScript (using React) or SQL would be handy, as these form the core of our software stack.

We’re enthusiastic adopters of tools and techniques that help us deliver better software: we’re advocates of agile development; we practice continuous integration and delivery; our applications are built, tested and hosted in the cloud (AWS).

Ours is a collaborative team where everyone can contribute to our architecture, tools and practices.

We’d like it if you were already familiar with the tools and languages we use, but your general development skills and practices are more important.

Working as a part of a multidisciplinary Research and Development team the Electronics Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of world class audio products.

With a passion for audio, a flair for innovative design, and the desire to push the boundaries of audio performance, you will have at significant relevant industrial experience, as you will be expected to lead technology roadmaps and mentor junior engineers.

As Electronics Design Engineer you will be confident in both analog and digital design, specifically:

  • Op-amp circuits and filters
  • A-D and D-A conversion
  • Embedded processors
  • FPGAs & VHDL


Ideally you will have a good working knowledge of some or all of the following:

  • DSP techniques and algorithms

We are currently looking for an experienced Mobile Developer to join our outstanding software team.

We are a precision engineering company specialising in the design and manufacture of high end music systems. Our customers expect the very best when it comes to interacting and controlling their music system and they trust us to deliver. Increasingly, they are controlling their music systems using a mobile device – this is where you come in.

We are building our next generation of music systems and are seeking world-class software developers to help us create a brand new, market leading, UI to control them.

You will be joining a small but highly effective team, our core language is C#. We advocate agile practices; we practice continuous integration and we love adopting new tools and techniques to improve the quality of our software. We currently use Pivotal Tracker, GitHub, Xamarin, NUnit, MVVMCross, AppVeyor and Bitrise, however we expect our tools to change over time and we want you to tell us if we can do it better.

We are looking for someone who reads blogs and experiments with new technology. You don’t have to have used all the tools we use but we expect you to understand how things work. Most importantly, we expect you to demonstrate a passion for writing great software.

Software Engineer

Linn design, engineer, and manufacture the world's finest music systems in Glasgow, Scotland.

We’re looking for a smart, motivated developer to join the team responsible for our streaming platform. This is a full-time position in our office on the outskirts of Glasgow.

We develop and maintain all code used on our DS (Digital Streamer) range. This ranges from device drivers and codecs to network protocols (HTTP, UPnP, many others), to on-board UI. The vast majority of work is in C++. This role will initially be focused on the network protocols layer but there is scope to evolve the role to suit the right candidate. Almost all code is cross-platform so most development will be on a desktop platform of your choice.

We’re a small team so every engineer gets to make a big difference and sees their code in shipping products, used by a highly engaged user-base.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong C++ programmer
  • Experience both using and implementing networking protocols

Head of Sales – West Coast USA

Linn has been present in North America for nearly 40 years but in recent years has operated through distributors and sales agents. With a view to long term sustainable sales growth we now plan to serve the market directly.

The Head of Sales will be responsible for managing around 20 key accounts, supported by a Brand Ambassador (events manager) and Trainer. The successful candidate will be tasked with rolling out Linn’s Growth Partnership agreement which focuses on working in partnership with our retailers through the pillars of information sharing, planning and pipeline management. You will create detailed business plans with quarterly sales objectives and supporting activity such as partner events, product events for customer acquisition and staff training and development. You will also be tasked with growing our network of retailers, assessing opportunities against fit with our strategic objectives and target customer groups.

The role will be based in Glasgow but will involve significant travel over extended periods of time.

It is essential that the successful candidate has experience of the North American market, has worked with independent businesses and can demonstrate that they have a commercial approach to sales with the ability to balance sales growth with profitability.

This is a senior appointment within the Linn Global Sales Team and offers an opportunity to grow the team in the coming 18-24 months as well as expanding our business into new channels.
