Full Stack Developer

We are growing our software team and are looking for a talented developer to help build out our mobile and cloud offering.

You will be joining a small but highly effective team using C# and JS/TS. We advocate agile practices; we practice CI/CD and we love adopting new tools and techniques to improve the quality of our software.

The team's core responsibilities are the delivery of mobile, desktop and cloud solutions for the configuration and control of a world leading HiFi product. You will be a versatile developer capable of working on all of our mobile and cloud products.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong object orientated programmer
  • Experience both using and implementing web APIs
  • Strong track record of delivery
    • Unit testing and UI testing
    • Strong written and verbal communication

Linux Kernel Engineer

We’re looking for an innovative, motivated Linux Kernel Engineer to join the team responsible for our streaming platform. This is a full time role based in our office on the outskirts of Glasgow (albeit we're currently working from home).

If you joined our team, you would be working with a group of engineers who develop and maintain all the code used on our DS (Digital Streamer) range. This ranges from kernel configuration and device drivers to network protocols (HTTP, UPnP, many others), to audio pipeline, to on-board UI.

While we write and maintain much of our own code, we know we can't do it all. We also integrate a number of third party libraries, from kernel to security and codecs. As well as consuming open source libraries, we open much of our code.

The vast majority of work is in C++, with C used to interface with third party libraries and hardware. This role will initially be focused on linux kernel but there is scope to evolve the role to suit the right candidate.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Linux Kernel driver development
  • Developing for real-time, embedded software applications
  • Multi-threading and concurrency
  • Cross-platform development experience
  • U-boot


Desirable

  • Experience in working with audio streaming
  • Interest in music
  • C++ experience including C++11 (and later) and STL
  • OO design and software architecture skills
  • Experience integrating third party libraries (e.g. libressl, Bonjour/zeroconf, codecs)
  • Working knowledge of python

Mechanical Design Engineer

Linn Products Limited, design, engineer and manufacture the best music systems in the world and has been based in Glasgow for over 45 years. We are currently looking a Mechanical Design Engineer to grow our Mechanical Design Team.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary R&D team designing and developing exciting new products. You will also be responsible for ongoing technical support to production, service, and procurement teams.

The successful candidate must have:-

  • BEng 2:1 minimum, in mechanical engineering / mechanical design engineering.
  • The ability to conceive creative and innovative mechanical solutions.
  • 3D CAD skills, to model concepts and create detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • The ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels in the business.
  • An understanding of DFM & DFA - ‘Design For Manufacturing & Assembly’


Advantageous attributes:-

  • Knowledge of relevant production processes and materials. For example: extrusion; injection moulding; CNC machining; sheet metalwork; die-casting; anodising; plating and powder coating.
  • Experience in a mechanical design environment for consumer goods.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks.
  • Experience in FEA for thermal management and dynamic analysis.
  • Experience in using workshop tools, and model making.
  • Experience in Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator.
  • An enthusiasm for music, and HiFi.

Senior iOS Developer

We are growing our mobile apps team and are looking for a Senior iOS Developer to help develop and drive our next generation music app.

You will be joining a team of software developers, developing and maintaining all the code used to control our DSM range of products. Any experience of C#, Xamarin.iOS or MVVM would be beneficial, as these technologies form the core of our mobile apps.

Our team advocates agile software development; we practice continuous integration and delivery and we love adopting new tools and techniques to improve the quality of our software.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and test our mobile apps
  • Provide technical leadership
  • Mentor our less experienced developers
  • Provide technical input to the customer support team


Skills and requirements:

  • Strong object orientated programmer
  • Experience using Auto Layout, CoreAnimation and creating custom controls
  • Experience both using and implementing web APIs
  • Evidence of playing a key role in the design and implementation of significant apps
  • Strong track record of delivery


Desirable:

  • Interest in music
  • Working knowledge of C# and Xamarin
  • Cross-platform development experience
