Graduate Software Engineer

Linn design, engineer, and manufacture the world's finest music systems in Glasgow, Scotland.

We’re looking for smart, organised and motivated graduates who are excited about software development to join the teams responsible for our streamer platform and mobile apps. These are full-time positions in our office on the outskirts of Glasgow.

We are a small team so every engineer gets to make a big difference and sees their code in shipping products, used by a highly engaged user-base. Everyone in our teams is involved in the full product development lifecycle from creation of technology roadmaps and requirements gathering through architecture then development to release and maintenance.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Excellent academic record
  • Knowledge of OO programming
  • Enjoys variety in work (we all tend to work with a variety of different technologies over time)
  • Self-starter (we provide on-going coaching but you should also be capable of working independently)


Desirable:

  • Good communication skills
  • Interest in music
  • User-level experience of streaming audio
  • Extra-curricular programming experience (any of hackathons, summer internships, open source, etc.)
  • Experience in either C# or C++

Electronics Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join our busy design team in Eaglesham near Glasgow.

Working as a part of a multidisciplinary R&D team you will be responsible for the design and development of world class audio products.

You should have a passion for audio, a flair for innovative design, and the desire to push the boundaries of audio performance.

You should be confident in both analog and digital design, specifically:

  • Op-amp circuits and filters
  • A-D and D-A conversion
  • Embedded processors
  • FPGAs & VHDL


Ideally you will have a good working knowledge of some or all of the following:

  • DSP techniques and algorithms
  • Switched-mode power supply design
  • Design for EMC and safety compliance
  • PCB layout


You should have solid skills in:

  • Problem solving
  • Researching and applying new technologies
  • Cross-discipline teamwork
  • Written and verbal communication


Experience of the following tools would also be advantageous:

We are currently looking for an experienced Mobile Developer to join our outstanding software team.

We are a precision engineering company specialising in the design and manufacture of high end music systems. Our customers expect the very best when it comes to interacting and controlling their music system and they trust us to deliver. Increasingly, they are controlling their music systems using a mobile device – this is where you come in.

We are building our next generation of music systems and are seeking world-class software developers to help us create a brand new, market leading, UI to control them.

You will be joining a small but highly effective team, our core language is C#. We advocate agile practices; we practice continuous integration and we love adopting new tools and techniques to improve the quality of our software. We currently use Pivotal Tracker, GitHub, Xamarin, NUnit, MVVMCross, AppVeyor and Bitrise, however we expect our tools to change over time and we want you to tell us if we can do it better.

We are looking for someone who reads blogs and experiments with new technology. You don’t have to have used all the tools we use but we expect you to understand how things work. Most importantly, we expect you to demonstrate a passion for writing great software.

Software Engineer

Linn design, engineer, and manufacture the world's finest music systems in Glasgow, Scotland.

We’re looking for a smart, motivated developer to join the team responsible for our streaming platform. This is a full-time position in our office on the outskirts of Glasgow.

We develop and maintain all code used on our DS (Digital Streamer) range. This ranges from device drivers and codecs to network protocols (HTTP, UPnP, many others), to on-board UI. The vast majority of work is in C++. This role will initially be focused on the network protocols layer but there is scope to evolve the role to suit the right candidate. Almost all code is cross-platform so most development will be on a desktop platform of your choice.

We’re a small team so every engineer gets to make a big difference and sees their code in shipping products, used by a highly engaged user-base.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong C++ programmer
  • Experience both using and implementing networking protocols


Any of the following would be a bonus:

  • User-level experience with streaming audio
  • Interest in music
  • Experience in or understanding of real-time systems
  • Experience in agile methodologies

CNC Operator

Linn Products Ltd has a vacancy for an experienced CNC Operator to work in their Metalwork manufacturing area comprising Fabrication, Powder Coating, Printing and CNC machining.

Requirements:

Experience operating any of the following equipment

  • CNC Milling and/or Lathes
  • Press Brake
  • CNC Punch


Main Duties:

  • Set-up and operate CNC equipment where necessary
  • Inspect and check parts using Engineering drawings and any relevant inspection/measuring equipment.
  • Applicants must be flexible and willing to work in any of the Metalwork areas when required.
  • They must also work well within a team, but should also be able to use their initiative to solve problems and improve methods/processes.
