C# Software Developer

Linn is a Scottish company that makes the world’s best music systems.

We’re looking for a full-time C# software engineer to join us in our Glasgow office. As part of the software ecosystem for our digital streamers, we’ve created our own media server; your primary responsibility will be to take the lead in its future development. All development is in C#. We deploy to Mac/Linux as well as Windows so familiarity with the world beyond Microsoft is important.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:

Essential skills:

  • 5+ years professional software engineering.
  • Strong C# developer.

Desirable:

  • User-level experience with streaming audio.
  • Experience with database engines, including NoSQL.
  • Experience both using and implementing network protocols.

Classical and Jazz Music Project Manager

Linn is Scotland’s leading independent record label and home to many exceptional artists ranging from the finest Baroque players and national orchestras to highly respected jazz vocalists. Since our launch in 1982, with groundbreaking recordings by The Blue Nile and Carol Kidd, Linn has established a catalogue brimming with quality and diversity. Linn Records was named as Gramophone’s ‘Label of the Year’ in 2010.

The label is now recruiting a project manager to oversee the release of over 40 recordings each year, including production and PR. The successful candidate must be passionate about classical music. They will be extremely organized, an excellent communicator and will have experience of budgeting, project planning and marketing.

Essential Requirements:

  • Passionate about classical music.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in project management, events management and/or marketing sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Supreme organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and to adapt to new challenges as required.
  • The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.

Desirable:

  • A working knowledge of European languages.
  • Experience working with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign.
  • A good understanding of the classical and jazz music industry.
